Visions for Dixon Creek: A Design Charrette

Corvallis architects and planners interested in exploring sustainability concepts for public presentation at da Vinci Days (17-19 July, 2009) invite you to participate in a half-day design charette on Saturday, June 27th, from 10 am to 3 pm (location TBA).

The theme of this year’s da Vinci Days is water, so we’ve chosen to look at the natural features associated with the Dixon Creek area between NW 10th Street through to NW 5th Street and how they interact with a multitude of land uses & transportation issues. We plan to produce several varied visions of and inspirations for how we might grow towards a more sustainable future in Corvallis based upon this diverse and representative site.

We’re looking for architects to be key members of each of several design teams. Please join us as we demonstrate for our community the comprehensive and integrative skills of the architecture profession. Design teams will also include planners, landscape architects, engineers, life-sciences specialists, and other interested stakeholders.

Participants will receive 4 HSW Continuing Education hours (approval pending) and we’ll provide a nice lunch in exchange for your taking part. Please contact Chick Gerke (541) 757-0554 chick@crgarchitect.com as soon as possible to allow us to plan for your participation.
